Admissions

If you wish to send your child to Belswains you are advised to contact the school office (01442 264324) to make an appointment to look around the school. This offers the opportunity to see the school at work, meet the Headteacher and discuss how the school can work with you to provide the best education for your child.

 

Our admission number throughout the school is 30 children per year group. Please see link below to read our Admissions Policy :

All Reception class admissions and ‘in year ‘ admissions for other year groups must apply via Hertfordshire County Council School Admissions procedures:

Nursery Class Admissions

Children are admitted into our nursery once a year , in September. However ‘in year’ applications will be accepted if places are available.

 

For Nursery class admissions, Parents must apply directly to the school. See application from link below.

 

Current timetable for Nursery Applications is shown below:

Applications accepted from Monday 4th February 2019
Parent Tours ( please contact school) February – March
Deadline to apply to your chosen school/s Friday 15th March 2019 – 10am
Offer letters sent by schools to parents/carers Monday 29th April 2019                

 

  Either sent via email or 2nd class post

Deadline to accept place and return paperwork to chosen school Wednesday 10th May 2018 – 10am

 

 

If your child is offered a place in our nursery we will contact you shortly after you have received your allocation letter to arrange visits for you and your child.

Please note: Admission into our nursery class does not guarantee a place in our reception class. There is a separate application procedure for admission into reception class.

 

Reception Class Admissions

All children join the reception class in September – However please read the ‘Age of Admissions and Deferral of Places ‘ section of our Admissions Policy . If your child is offered a place in our school we will contact you shortly after you have received your allocation letter to arrange visits for you and your child.

 

Remember: admission into our nursery class does not guarantee a place in our reception class. There is a separate application procedure for reception class through Herts County Council

 

Other Admissions (In Year Admissions)

Providing there are places available, we admit children into other classes throughout the school at any time of the year, but applications must go through Hertfordshire County Council Admissions team. Further information is available at www.hertfordshire.gov.uk or from Hertfordshire County Council’s Customer Service Centre on 0300 123 4040. If you require a place in a class that is already full your child’s name will be placed on the continuing interest list and you will be contacted when a place becomes available.
