Pupil Premium

IF0A7802Pupil Premium Funding

Pupil Premium funding is additional funding received by the school. The funding is calculated based on the number of pupils eligible, over the last six years, for Free School Meals. The funds have to be used on initiatives which assist these pupils in reaching their full potential, both
academically and socially. The amount received by Belswains and a break down of how it was spent over the last year can be seen under  ‘OUR SCHOOL’   – then – ‘KEY INFORMATION’

Sports Premium Grant

The Department of Education are spending over £450 million on improving physical education (PE) and sport in primary schools over 3 academic years: 2013 to 2014, 2014 to 2015 and 2015 to 2016. Further funding will be available until 2020.  This extra funding is given  directly to primary schools. Schools can choose how they use the funding, for example to:

  • hire specialist PE teachers or qualified sports coaches to work with primary teachers during PE lessons
  • support and involve the least active children by running after-school sports clubs and holiday clubs.
  • provide resources and training courses in PE and sport for teachers
  • run sport competitions or increase pupils’ participation in the School Games
  • run sports activities with other schools

At Belswains we are very keen to encourage sports participation for all and to see the funding received by Belswains and the school action plan for the allocation of the funds, see ‘OUR SCHOOL’ then ‘KEY INFORMATION’
