Year 1 Leopards

Mrs Lockton-Farrow - Yr1 Leopards

Hi and welcome to Year 1 Leopards.

 I am Mrs Farrow, the teacher for Year 1 Leopards.

 You will soon get to know our team. We are very friendly and approachable, so please don't be afraid to ask questions. If we don't know the answers we will soon find out for you.

Leopards consists of Mrs Davies who will be with me every morning

                                 Mrs O'Brien who will be here in the afternoons Mon-Thurs

                                  Mrs Snelgar who will be with me on a Friday afternoon.


Some you know me already, but for those who don't, I have been a teacher since 1994. I have taught Year 1 for the last 3 years. I have 2 children, both in their teens now who came to Belswains when they were young.

Below I have added the curriculum newsletter for this term stating what we plan to teach, whether it is online through home schooling or actually in class. 


Things may be a little different to what you are used to, but we will do our best to support you.

Cursive Handwriting: How to Write the Alphabet

If you want to practice your handwriting please watch the video. In school we practice 2 lines of each letter or word every day or 2.
If you practice 3 letters a day/every other day , after a few days/weeks you can move on to 3/4 letter words. The hardest letters tend to be those that need to be below the line. For example q/g/p/j. F and K are tricky as the children are not used to forming these in cursive form (ready for joining)
If your childs writing is already joined practice copying sentences from books or generally writing sentences of their own.
