Welcome to Belswains Primary School

Our diverse, community-embracing school is situated within spacious grounds in Hemel Hempstead. We have been expanding to become a two-form entry establishment and cohesion has been at the heart of this expansion. 

The Aviary, our contemporary building, houses our Key Stage 2 pupils. It hosts classrooms and intervention teaching rooms designed for Key Stage 2 and the school office.  Our Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 classrooms are in The Nest,  which has an inviting, nurturing and sensory enriched environment for younger pupils.

We have large outdoor space, including a purpose built MUGA. 

We are focused on equipping our pupils to excel with their studies, as well as within their social sphere. Our approach is to maximise the educational achievements for every learner. We expect our pupils to maintain extremely high standards of behaviour and to continue to be motivated, resilient learners. Belswains Primary School is committed to the safety and wellbeing of all pupils and staff. 

We work in unity with those in local secondary schools and this provides a progressive strand for our pupils. Our positive partnership with parents and guardians continues to flourish and our Ofsted Report confirms that ‘parents are overwhelmingly supportive of the quality of education’. Other significant community links that we have, such as with charitable and religious organisations, reflect our passion to be inclusive.

We let out areas of our site to community groups and reinvest funds raised into school activities and equipment.
