During Year 5, the children will have the opportunity to undertake challenging work whilst enjoying themselves at the same time. The year promises to provide children with a rich variety of learning through lessons that will be taught to suit all types of learners. There is a large emphasis placed on encouraging independent work for all children as well as collaborative learning in table groups and as a whole class.

Our class topics this year will be:

-Dynamic Dynasties, this project teaches children about the history of ancient China, focusing primarily on the Shang Dynasty, and explores the lasting legacy of the first five Chinese dynasties, some of which can still be seen in the world today.

-Sow, Grow and Farm, this project teaches children about the features and characteristics of land use in agricultural regions across the world, including a detailed exploration of significant environmental areas.

- Groundbreaking Greeks, this project teaches children about developments and changes over six periods of ancient Greek history, focusing on the city state of Athens in the Classical age, and exploring the lasting legacy of ancient Greece.

Key Information 

Homework is handed out on Thursday and collected the following Tuesday.

PE is on a Wednesday and Thursday - Children to come to school in their PE kit.
