  • NSPCC

    Mon 26 Jun 2023

This week pupils attended an assembly from the NSPCC. This assembly raised awareness of type of abuse and left the pupils with the message to ‘Speak out. Stay safe.’ Pupils were taught about safe adults and who they can turn to if they have any worries or concerns.

Year 5 and 6 followed up the assembly with workshops to teach them about protective behaviors and understanding what is and what isn’t acceptable.

It is worth remembering that abuse can happen online as well as in person. APPs such as tiktok, Snapchat, have age limits for a reason.

  • YEAR 1 TRIP TO THE VICTORIAN SCHOOL MUSEUM

    Fri 23 Jun 2023

On Tuesday we were delighted to have a chance to visit a Victorian school. The children dressed up and had a chance to  experience life as a Victorian child. The teacher was amazing and treated the children as if they were back in time.  She checked their hands for cleanliness and then they were able practice their writing skills using a slate and pencil.  They then completed some Maths, adding pence and farthings. This was followed by some writing with an ink pen and blotting paper. They had a great time and learnt the phrase “children should be seen and not heard”. We also were able to play with some Victorian toys and learn about life without plastic and batteries. The children could see how the toys moved by winding them up or spinning them.

  • BRITISH VALUES WEEK

    Fri 23 Jun 2023

Each day this week, classes have focused on a different British value. Today the focus was ’Tolerance’. As part of this, our Year 6 pupils made presentations about their faiths and shared these with younger year groups.  It is so important that we are all proud and respectful or each others differences and cultures. Year 6 you are such an inspiration to the younger years. Thank you for today!
